Happy Treat Yo Self Tuesday!!! 

 

I have decided to start a little tradition here at Steph E Photo, called Treat YO Self Tuesday!! (Thanks Parks and Rec for the idea, lol.) Sadly, the affects (affects...effects...??) of stress in my life have been showing themselves lateIy in unpleasant ways!  I am not even 30 yet...I'm too young for this!! So I have been learning A LOT of ways to relax, destress and treat myself!!  

​It's so important to treat yourself once in awhile....maybe to a piece of cake...(more on that later)....or a massage, or a new lipgloss, etc.  But it's also necessary to treat yourself mentally too!  So every Tuesday I will share with you a little tip I have learned about relaxation, wellness, breathing, yoga, etc. AND a fun, more material way to treat yourself too......which leads me to cake.

As some of you may know, I live a gluten, wheat and dairy free life.  Through years of tummy troubles I have found that I just feel the best this way! I have also found many yummy desserts, because lets face it, I have the biggest sweet tooth on the planet.  So my treat to you today is Pamela's!!! 

It was my Mom's birthday yesterday and we made a Pamela's Chocolate cake (with Pamela's vanilla frosting and sprinkles) and it was one of the best cakes I have ever had!! Gluten free or not!!  Even my stubborn Dad thought it was delicious.

So here it is.....Go buy this and treat yourself to some cake for goodness sake!

Now for a wellness tip.......BREATHE!!

Deep breathing can work miracles.  It slows your heart rate and lowers your blood pressure which is the opposite of being stressed!  Just take a 5 minute break to focus on your breathing.  Sit up straight and close your eyes and just feel yourself breathing.  Feel your tummy go up and down, and just chill for a few minutes.  Maybe add a couple stretches in there. I find that if I do this a couple times a day it really helps me focus and stay more relaxed overall because then I'm more aware of my breathing.  This is SO SIMPLE but really helps me:)

 

And last but DEFINITELY not least.....treat yourself to a glamour photoshoot!!  Your family and loved ones will thank you.  Exist in photographs for those people. Allow yourself to be vulnerable in front of the camera, and I promise you will see things and learn things about yourself you never saw. Mothers day is coming up quick.....just saying.....there is no better gift than a portrait:)
